RS10A rumour that Rs 10 coins had been declared invalid by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) spread like wildfire in several parts of the country, including Delhi, Agra, Meerut and others.

Many shopkeepers, rickshaw-pullers and vendors have stopped taking the coins because of a rumour circulated by some people on social media that the RBI has declared the Rs 10 coin invalid.

When NWI enquired about this from several banks to that they said, “The rumour that is being circulated is wrong, the RBI has not issued any guidelines regarding the banning of the Rs 10 coin.”
