uber newA French court on Thursday fined Uber Technologies and two of its executives for running an illegal transport service.

The fine has been imposed after the company and the executives started UberPop, a now defunct service that connected customers with drivers without a professional license.

According to reports, iPierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty, head of Uber in Western Europe, and Thibaud Simphal, head of Uber in France, have been asked to pay €30,000 and €20,000 respectively and the company has to pay €800,000.
