Viral news network Scoop Whoop is going viral for an entirely unexpected reason. A former senior executive of Scoop Whoop Media Pvt Ltd has filed an FIR accusing co-founder Suparn Pandey of sexual harassment and sexual assault over a period of nearly 2 years. The complainant has also accused other co-founders of Scoop Whoop, Sattvik Mishra and Sriparna Tikekar of abetting the harassment and attempting to cover it up.
While often such complaints go unreported until the situation grows out of hand, the complaintant described how she raised the matter with co-founder Sriparna Tikekar when Pandey initially began verbal harassment with inappropriate comments and lewd remarks. Allegedly, Tikekar assured the victim that such behaviour wouldn’t be repeated but no action was taken against Pandey.
Emboldened, Pandey used various pretexts to get close to the victim and even sent her a lewd video. The victim then took the issue to Tikekar again and also to Mishra, but both co-founders allegedly humiliated her instead of taking action on Pandey. According to the victim, both co-founders even allowed Pandey to show up for work drunk, who would then attempt to touch her.
Despite repeated attempts to lodge complaints and being dissuaded, and being threatened of damage to her career, the victim resigned and later filed the FIR.
