A striking revelation has come into light in connection with the land provided at affordable prices for construction of an Adventure Park in Bhopal. Essel Infra Ltd had been allocated land to construct an adventure park on this land which was given to them at a nominal price. As per the revelation, the complaint in which the irregularities about the land allocation was mentioned, has gone missing from the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) office.
Subhash Chandra’s Essel Infra has been under the lens over the alleged land scam and the investigation in the matter is still on.
On June 23 2014, RTI activist, Devendra Prakash Mishra had filed a report in the matter. After two years, when Mishra enquired about the status of the complaint, then he came to know that there was no such RTI filed.
However, Mishra claimed that he has a copy of it in which DG’s signature is mentioned and the same has been misplaced by the EOW office due to pressure from Subhash Chandra. Mishra also hinted about a possible conspiracy in the matter.
On March 28 2006, 50.7 acres of land was allocated to Essel Infra near Kaliyasot dam in which the company has been accused of breaching the lease laws.
Essel has been accused of mortgaging the land without giving any indication to the state government and taking an amount of Rs 17 crores as loan on it.
The land allocated to Essel Infra near the Kaliyasot dam is under the ‘Tiger reserve area’ in which any kind of construction is posed as a danger to the existence of national animals.
